The Arlington County logo changed in 2021 from a representation of Arlington House to a map of the original D.C. borders, with Arlington County shaded a dark blue. It was chosen after considering community feedback and extensive debate. It symbolizes how, despite being officially separate, the three parts of the original District of Columbia remain interconnected and share a common history, having split to find their own paths.
