How do you preserve a community’s history while that community is rapidly changing? Join AHS President Peter Vaselopoulos for a special 15 Minute History celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Arlington Historical Society.
Founded in 1956 by Arlington residents concerned that the county’s historic places and stories were disappearing, the Society quickly began collecting artifacts, photographs, documents, and memories and eventually found a permanent home in the historic Hume School. Peter will share the story of the people, places, and preservation efforts that shaped the Society and its museum over seven decades.
Come discover how a small group of history-minded neighbors built an organization dedicated to keeping Arlington’s past alive and how that mission continues today.
