John Hugh Tuohy passed on March 15, 2026, at the age of 72. He was a licensed CPA, Deputy Treasurer for Arlington County Government, and a long-time Civil War reenactor. He had a distinguished career in public service, including serving as CFO for the City of Falls Church before he moved to the Treasurer’s Office in Arlington.
John was known for his volunteer contributions, including service with CivFed and as Treasurer of the Arlington Historical Society. He was also appointed to serve on the County’s Fiscal Affairs Advisory Commission, and just before he fell ill, served as FAAC’s designated representative to the County’s Audit Committee.
Visitation will be held at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22203, US, on April 9, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Agnes Catholic Church, 1914 N Randolph St, Arlington, VA, on April 10, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, with “Reception To Follow”.
