Description
If you’ve visited the Ball-Sellers House, the oldest structure in Arlington County, you know what a historical treasure it is. Now you can buy a set of real photo note cards showing four different scenes of this historic farmhouse. You can send a small piece of historic Arlington to your friends and family.
John and Elizabeth Ball built this house in, at least, 1750 when they acquired the land from Lord Fairfax as he established Fairfax County in 1742. Marian Sellers donated the house to the Arlington Historical Society in 1975. So AHS renamed it the Ball-Sellers House to honor them both. It has been open as a free museum since then.
The note cards are 4 and 1/4 inches tall and 6 inches across. They come in a set of 4 color photo notecards that are blank inside and each note card has a plain white envelope for mailing. The four photos are:
- Ball-Sellers House at dusk
- The loft where John Ball’s daughters slept and shows the inside of the original roof
- A view into the front room of the house from the door step
- Ball-Sellers House in winter
Everything you buy here on this website helps support the AHS mission to strengthen our community by improving the understanding of local history.
