December is a season of hope and giving. That is why we hope you will consider AHS and give a special end-of-year gift to our Annual “Bell Ringer Campaign.” The campaign is named for our school bell that has been ringing out history since 1893.
This past year has been an exciting time at the Arlington Historical Society! The Arlington Historical Museum reopened after eight months of exterior and interior restoration. This renovation also included an update to all our exhibits. In addition, we celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Ball-Sellers House (the oldest building in Arlington) being given to the Society.
Next year will be even more eventful. In 2026, the Arlington Historical Society will lead the county’s commemoration of the United States’ 250th anniversary. AHS is organizing a history festival for May 9, 2026, at Kenmore Middle School. The festival will include a full day of history, including exhibits, reenactors, crafts, music, and food. It’s also a chance for Arlington’s many civic, cultural, and service organizations to showcase their work.

Your Bell Ringer donation will enable us to tell “Arlington’s Story” by supporting:
Facility Improvements—Continue renovating the Hume School and Ball-Sellers House, introducing new exhibits, and technology improvements.
Programming—New educational programming to complement our monthly lecture series, social media engagement, storytelling on our website, and activities around Memorializing the Enslaved in Arlington.
Personnel—Secure funding to hire a paid, part-time Executive Director to improve and expand AHS outreach to the community. Last year, AHS hired Museum Director Bethany Baker to help redesign our exhibits and update content.
Thank you for donating to AHS!
