This site was created to assist in doing family ancestral research oriented on the general Arlington County, Virginia area, including Washington, DC, Alexandria, and Fairfax.
Many genealogy resources will help you with research across locations, but here are a few resources that may be especially helpful for Arlington residents.
Ancestry.com access is available on site at Arlington Public Libraries. Ancestry includes records related to the US Census, immigration, military service, city directories and more.
Local Yearbooks Some 350 Arlington County school yearbooks are available at the Charlie Clark Center for Local History. Many are digitized but some must be reviewed in person by appointment.
Arlington Community Archives holds some collections of donated personal papers and community organization records that may shed light on civically engaged Arlingtonians.
City Directories for Arlington from various years are available at the Library of Virginia in Richmond for onsite review.
