The Arlington Historical Museum is opening a new permanent exhibit focused on public education, titled “Building Minds, Shaping Futures.”   The innovative exhibit allows visitors to step into Arlington’s classrooms, past and present,  exploring the history of public education in the county. From one-room schoolhouses to today’s innovative learning environments, museum-goers will discover how generations of students, teachers, and communities have shaped and been shaped by education in Arlington.

The exhibit’s opening reception will be on Sunday, April 26, from 1 – 4 pm.

Visitors to Building Minds, Shaping Futures are encouraged to show their school spirit by wearing something from their alma mater and posing for a school picture at the reception!

Light refreshments served.

The Arlington Historical Museum is in the oldest existing schoolhouse in the county, the Hume School. It is open Saturdays 10-4 PM and Sundays 1-4 PM. It’s FREE!
