On September 10, 2026, five former Arlington Historical Society presidents, Cathy Hix, David Pearson, Johnathan Thomas, Ali Ganjian, and Karl VanNewkirk, met at Marymount University’s Reinsch Library to discuss the society’s 70th Anniversary. Moderated by current President Peter Vaselopulos, the panelists answered questions about their experience, inspiration, and challenges.
The program reflected on AHS and its origin at the Glebe House on September 14, 1956, when a small group of dedicated Arlingtonians wanted to learn more about preserving and sharing their local history.
